hi,

I've started using wikitags, mainly as a way of categorising items going into IQ from the web at the point of clipping. It seems very useful for that. When I clip something and use the Wikitags dialog, I get the following:

So this is an autopopulate field or something like that - which is very useful and what I would want. I can use any tags that already exist and I can add to them. However, when I look at Wikitags in Field Properties, it's just a regular text box. So I'm not sure what's going on here. If I want to add some Wikitags within IQ, not via a clipping, how should I do that? Do I have to change the properties of the field to match what I see when web clipping? It just seems like Wikitags is two different kinds of field rather than one - which is a little confusing.

BTW the website kept automatically refreshing or something as I was writing the above which wiped out what I'd written... made it a bit of a struggle to complete!

cheers

Yes - Auto-list of values + Multi-Select.
Perhaps it would be best if this is the default option in the Sample IQ Database.

I think the Wikitags field should come pre-configured  to be as you say, auto-list + multi-select - just as other fields are pre-configured with conditional formats and equations and so on. Not that it's a big task to do it yourself - just seems kind of pointless to have it as a text field. And it's confusing to have the two different behaviours - one within IQ, one with web clippings.

Fixed in v81. Sample IQBase has multi-select enabled for the Wikitag field

Pierre, when you say "sample database", does that mean it would not be set up like that if you created a new database?

The sample database is the one you get when you do File > New.
For existing databases, simply set the Wikitag field editor to be an Auto-list and check multi-select.

Thanks Pierre, terminology was confusing me.
