I used Ctrl+Shift to show more of the found items in the Live Search grid. After I did so, I was not able to use the cursor keys to scroll the Live Search down to see items below the lowest displayed item.

It only happens if the live search has a small number of hits - so that all the hits don't fill up the window, and no vertical scroll bar appears.
In such a case, if you use Ctrl+Shift to expand vertically the found items, some of the items may go down below the bottom of the window. But if this happens, still no vertical scroll bar appears, and you can't scroll the window to see the items presently below the displayed portion of the grid. And if you are on the lowest displayed item - and press the down key to go to the items below - the properties pane changes to show the currently active item, but the grid won't scroll down to let you see it.
The only way I've found to bring the lower items back into view is to press Ctrl+Shift again to collapse the found items.
