Hi,
I wish to use infoqube to register guests and booking for holiday rentals.
 
I've created my grid and my fields. In my principal grid there are two data fields 'Arrive' and 'Departure' is it possible use this value in the calendar so I can graphicaly view the booking situation ?

You will be able to, but not currently. The current calendar uses fixed fields
 
But you can use the Gantt chart to do this. The advantage of using the gantt, is that you can tap into the powerful grid features:
  • Group by room (to view individual room availability)
  • open/collapse items, add notes, billing info, preferred rooms (during reservations)
  • Use pivot table to provide usage statistics, compute monthly revenues, client satisfaction, etc
  • Gantt chart can display the current time (as a vertical bar) with autoscroll, so you can see what is coming
  • Drag-drop to create / move reservations (single-day or multi-day). You can even select multiple reservations and move them as 1 block
  • Visually view the rooms available at any given time
And many more. It is one application that is ideally suited for IQ and for this, the Gantt is much more suitable than a simple calendar.
 
If interested, we can work on this together to come up with a template, which others could use.

I have a feeling that this is the way to go for construction / renovation projects, too. I will need help here as I know exactly nothing about Gantt charts

Sure Pierre-
I actualy rent appartment but for the template is the same thing.
 
Now principal grid of my infoqube is contact where I put all the request. The field are
item-> name, mail, cellphone, nation contact date, origin (site), status, n.r of persons, arrival, departure, tot days (calculated), caution (yes/no), amount.
In the html pane I insert the mail received via gmail.
 
the field status could assume this value: cancelled, requested (request info for booking), booked (send caution), vacation over.
Every status has his grid. The grid  'booked'  hold financial info too. The last grid is simple contability with the amount received.
 
As you can see is very simple.
Whath I need is:
an immediate and simple mode to insert info (all my request arrive via gmail)
 
view the graphicaly the booking situation (could be usefull view it with different colour based on specific criteria)
