hi,

I'm still getting an intermittent problem where values disappear entirely from the Properties Pane. You can see them in columns in the grid, but the Property Pane is completely blank.

As far as I can tell, it's heralded by non-responsiveness when I use a pop-up list: I select an item and IQ seems to be working but nothing happens and the value doesn't appear. Subsequent to that, I get the problem as noted above. At some stage thereafter (usually!) the values reappear in the Properties Pane. This seems to happen after flicking back and forth between different grids. When the Property Pane is in this blank state, it really doesn't seem to know any values exist in the item: under Item Properties it reads "Values:0".

Only in your IQBase or also in the sample ?

I only see this probem in one particular database, the problem one that I think you already know about and have sent to you... in fact I've just opened that one up and it's doing it just now - the Property Pane is completely blank. (The values themselves of course are all there). Opened up a different database and it's fine. Likewise the sample database.

And I've just fixed it in the usual way, opened another grid - P. Pane is blank there too - switch back to the original grid - all the values reappear, all is well again.

Have just tried closing it and opening the db again - same problem - fixed in the same way. It seems persistent, but only in this one database.

Saving or refreshing the grid won't fix it. You have to switch from one grid to another and back again.

Edit: I've also noticed that when this happens, the border of the Properties Pane, at the very top, where you should see the current Item text, instead bears the Item text from the last-viewed item, whether it was in this database or another one. Whichever item you now select, the Properties Pane still shows this Item text in that border area.

OK, we're progressing. Since I have that file (scrambled), can you give the details on how to reproduce it (grid name, editing steps, etc)

What's happening with it now is that you basically get the blank pane each time you open the db - it's not now connected with pop-up lists etc (kind of wonder now if it ever was...). So, based on what I'm looking at just now, the steps to take to reproduce the issue would be - open the database! and voila, you'll get the blank Properties Pane.

The issue affects all grids within the database.

If that doesn't happen with the version you have, I could certainly send you the current version, which is behaving in this way.

As I say the way of fixing it is absolutely certain, just switch back and forth between grids.

Quick addendum to the above: the problem is in fact manifesting itself in at least one other database.
