 1. Can someone give me some insight into how the Universal Clipper (InfoQubeClipper.exe) is supposed to work?  Sometimes I will highlight text on a web page, launch the clipper, and the text is there as I'd expect it to be.  But then the next time I try to highlight some text on a webpage and launch the universal clipper, the text from the previous clipping is still in the clipper, and no matter what I do I can't get rid of it.  Eventually I just give up and manually copy and paste from Chrome to the IQ HTML pane, which often seems to end up with poorly formatted pages that bear little resemblance to the original.  Strangely manually copying and pasting from Firefox seems to work better, but I now use Chrome almost exclusively.

2. Has anyone found any utilities which allow for fast copying/cleaning up/pasting into IQ?  I'm very spoiled by the excellent Evernote clippers which allow me to get highly readable clips along with notes and highlighting into Evernote in a matter of seconds.  There has to be a utility out there somewhere that does the same thing but so far the ones I've found are all tied to online services.

Thanks

The Universal Clipper not clipping is a super old bug.
Work around :
- Select what you need to clip (as you'd do anyway),
- Ctrl+C (added step),
- [shortcut to open universal clipper.]

So basically there's one extra step : pressing ctrl+c

Thanks Armando, that does it and keeps me going!  Now I just need to find a utility to take it to the next level, I'm convinced there has to be something.

Good!
Well I use Mouser's clipboard enhancer/manager "Clipboard Help + Spell " at DonationCoder.com.
If I copy something, I can repaste it without any formatting.
"Clipboard Help + Spell " does many things, works well -- very handy tool.

Strange indeed. Works correctly every single time for me (Chrome), as long as I have something selected of course...

It was mentioned a long time ago. Working for some, not for others. Workaround as I described.

havent used Evernote since the desktop-only version (which is still available online btw)

I find the IQ dialogue quick and easy for copying clipping.
Stripping stuff out is no problem.

Formatting / highlighting would be nice option.

How does adding notes work in Evernote ?
