Hi IQ Users !
 
In this release (v0.9.93) : 
  1. New: Surface: Supports Ctrl + 0-9 to expand / collapse items
  2. New: Surface: Link line type selector (i.e. solid, dot, dash, etc)
  3. New: Surface: View Origin to move to the center of the Surface
  4. New: Surface: Show Hidden Items command. (for housekeeping purposes)
  5. New: Surface: Green checkmark icon is now shown for items that are explicitly added to the Surface. Items that do not have this icon are sub-items of Surface items
  6. New: Surface: Press Ctrl + Shift to toggle the display of extended links (combined or distinct)
  7. New: Surface: Resizing now handles multiple selections correctly
  8. Change: HTML pane: Changes to templates no longer require a re-start to be effective (i.e. NewHTML.htm, etc)
  9. Change: Manual check of EmailToIQ shows dialog to choose how many days back, 0=new emails
  10. Fixed: Grid: Improved item selection ("Click and Drag" and "Ctrl + Click")
  11. Fixed: Grid: Export to Excel was broken (and incorrectly reported successful file creation). Same for Office Links (.odc files)
  12. Fixed: Grid: When Hoisted, Export to Excel generated a file for the non-hoisted grid. Same for Office Links (.odc files)
  13. Fixed: Surface: On initial setup, links color was set to white (invisible on a white background). Now set to black
  14. Fixed: HTML Pane: When in Browse mode, images are not resolved (in case of path differences between PCs)
  15. Fixed: EmailToIQ does not trigger a change seen by dropbox sync

looking forward to this, Surface and the fixes (I probably wont get to try it properly till friday)

V93a is in the works with further improvements to the Surface, namely:
  • New: Surface: Item > On the Surface command to add / remove items from the surface. Supports multiple selections
  • New: Surface: Improved Link Items and Delete Link commands

Just tested it and the surface now works (doesn't crash IQ like 92 did -- well, with my DB).

Haven't been able to test a lot, but it seems to be fine!
 
A few things I've noticed, but I'll need to use it more and see :
- Not sure how to keep links from being hidden -- I'd like to have them all there, but they disappear and reappear depending on the focused item (I played with some of the options in the surface menu, but I wasn't able to correct that behavior)
[See Edit]- For some reason, at some point, changing the line shape by right clicking in the surface and using the context menu didn't work (using the IQ surface menu worked, and then it also started to work with the context menu)

Hopefully, will have some time to look at the other things tomorrow evening...
 
[Edit : I think I might have not been clicking at the right place on the surface. More tomorrow. The surface is a great addition; it will be interesting to see how it can be used for brainstorming and planing/prototyping.]
