Hi IQ Users !

In this release (v0.9.96) :

New: Google Connect Dialog. Supports OAUTH2 secure authorization. Once connected, can list the calendars. Users can select the sync parameters for each calendar
New: Grid: Paste Special Dialog
New: Surface: Grow / Shrink font commands are now enabled
New: Omnibox: Search string is now shown in the dropdown
New: Item: Show in Calendar is checked when an item is shown at least once in the Calendar
New: Dropbox sync: Dialog now has option to dismiss and show later
New: Tools > Help > User Manual (online and offline)
Change: Grid: WYSIWYG Editor: Improved pasting of html content
Change: Tools > Database > Rebuild is buggy. Disabled until a better method is implemented
Fixed: Grid: Editing ended when switching focus to another application and back (non-WYSIWYG editor)
Fixed: Grid: Split item dialog: if the item is a TLI, source field is not assigned to the created items when Duplicate item values is not checked
Fixed: Grid: Changes to AutoSearch settings (in Tools > Options or in field settings) were not applied immediately. A refresh was required
Fixed: Calendar: Zoom in/out was disabled
Fixed: Omnibox: Some commands were shown when they should not
Fixed: Item > Show in Calendar command was sometimes not visible
Fixed: Focus related issues when using docking panes
Fixed: Backups: Delete timestamped backups no longer kept 1 per day, but deleted all backups

Fixed: Tooltips were not shown on toolbars
Fixed: When views are shown in panes and these panes are grouped as tabs in a hidden pane, clicking on the panes caused UI issues eventually leading to a crash
Fixed: Menus and toolbars better adapt to the view type (grid, Calendar, Surface, Pivot, MapView, etc)
Fixed: Grid: Deleting the Item Home when shown as a column did not work
Fixed: Grid: Copy > Paste sometimes showed a dialog saying that there are 2 lines in the clipboard when there was in reality only one
Fixed: Grid: Columns > un-hide all columns did not un-hide the # column if hidden
Fixed: Grid: Drag-drop a column from the properties pane was possible when Columns > Show columns was not checked
Fixed: Surface: Erase item did not show the confirmation dialog. New option to delete just this item or the item and all sub-items
Fixed: Changing the item locked state did not update the Properties pane
Fixed: Properties Pane: Deleting the Item Home silently deleted the item (!)
Fixed: Properties pane: Changing the item locked state in the Properties pane when multiple items are selected in a grid did not update the Item Lock column (if shown) for all grid items

New: Grid list menus: Right-click on a grid shows the Copy View command (to paste as a pane)
New: Grid list menus: Shows when Grids host panes (shows the number of panes)
New: Calendar: Can now set font type and size
Fixed: Sometimes some of the top menus were disabled when they should not
Fixed: When the focus was in a pane of a tab, pressing Ctrl + W to close it did not close the tab (just the pane)
Fixed: Erasing an item did not erase the ItemIDXXXX_files folder (which contains support files, images, etc)
Fixed: Grid: Hyperlink to a grid did not move focus to that grid
Fixed: Omnibox: Characters were sometimes dropped when typing fast on large databases

Hi Pierre,

I have just upgraded from Build 0.9.73c on Win 7 to Build 0.9.96b on Win 10. I see lots of new and exciting features and look forward to exploring them, but have encountered the issues below -

1. Calendar: I like to work with 5 weeks visible and select them by means of highlighting the 5 weeks in the mini-calendar view, but the selection won't stick, it keeps reverting to the last saved view in Build 0.9.73c, so I must always manually reselect the 5 weeks but always lose them again on close and reopen.

2. Calendar: Events don't display in chronological order but in random and haphazard fashion, so I do a refresh to realign them in chronological order - but it doesn't stick on close and reopen.

3. Tools > Google Connect > dialogue box > Show Calendars In This Account > Sync Settings: can't save my settings because always get error message, "Save is not yet implemented".

Hi Pierre,

Don't know if c version addressed what I've reported, but I notice also that custom changes I make to Menus don't stick, and Field Properties > Date > Properties > Event Color [select & check] > in Calendar doesn't take.

Hi Pierre, I have upgraded from version b to version e:

- Calendar weekly display changes as described in my April-30 post still don't stick, have to continually reset the displayed weeks each time I open InfoQube.

- have to refresh Calendar numerous time before events display in proper chronological sequence, as described in April-30 post.

- twice attempted some menu customization but InfoQube froze both times.

Hi Doug,

It does indeed sometimes revert. I'll look into this for v97. However, if I select month view from the mini-calendar, it sticks however, so you can try this in waiting for a proper fix
When there is no time-scale and for all-day events, events are not ordered properly. This needs to be fixed
Customization works here. Perhaps describe the steps you take, as there are a couple of ways to do it.

It connected:

"Access to google calendar granted"

but it didnt list any calendars -- or I couldnt find how to go further.

Clicking Tools >Google Connect again shows 'Not connected'

Tested most stuff and it seems to work fine. I especially like the improved focus management! That one is a big improvement for me.

(Note that alt-tabbing from IQ to an app and back to IQ again works well, with a caveat : focus isn't lost, but the editing isn't resumed if you're in a grid which is a pane in a tab... Not a big issue at all, just mentioning it)

Like others, I've effectively connected to my Google account!

The Omnibox works better with the change you made. One little problem : sometimes misses letters if I type at normal speed. Need to type a bit slower.

Fixed in v96g:

Fixed: When switching between applications, Edit was not resumed if the grid was in a pane

Warning : there seems to be a big bug with the way auto-assign equations are now parsed (equations are fully treated as text here and overwrite various fields). Probably related to the change to the way "=" is managed in text field.

(This could overwrite data)

Confirmed and fixed in v96a, available on the download page

yes it does !

I just upgraded from version 95 to 96b and my fixed list pop-up fields stopped working. When I click on the pop-up field in the column I can type text into it, but the pop-up options do not appear. I reverted back to 95 and they work fine.

The Google Calendar options look great, I see that it allows selecting from however many Google calendars the user has. When entering a calendar item in IQ, will there be a way to choose which Google calendar it will get synced to? Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if it just syncs to the main calendar :-).

Of course !

As described here: Sharing Calendar Design and Thoughts, each Calendar is linked to an IQ date field

(the Calendar already has the feature whereby you can select which date field is used. Also, in field properties you can set that all dates are shown in the Calendar)

In v96f, we should have an in-product help file. But Tools / Help / User manual (local) reports:
Help file not found: C:\lnfoQube\AppData\infoqube.chm

Following the advice at http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/48, we click to download the help file - but then get a message from
Dropbox at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.eom/u/3286283/lnfoOubeUserManual.zip telling us that the file is not found.

Resorting to the online manual, I find no advice on where this file should be found.

From the IQ main website, I try to download the help file, and get an error:

http://www.sqlnotes.net/portals/Q/downloadarea/InfoOubeUserManual.zip “The page you requested is not available”.

So, still helpless, I’m giving up and going to bed!
