Pierre, I'm finding that if day of week for Gantt chart was visible, it would be easier for me to work with Gantt.  What do you think? Is this possible?

Definitely possible. The only problem is the huge number of options and the time to code each one of them

how about a pop up window (bubble) when mouse hovers over a date?
already present on numbers (top of column)
improvement would be dow bubble anywhere in the column space
