Hi Pierre,

Wondering if there's a relatively easy way to batch convert item's HTML content (from the HTML pane) to MHT files...?

(I normally clip stuff as MHT, but for some  reasons -- not sure why : I probably uncheck the "save as MHT" check box inadvertently and only notice it after a while :(  -- , I end up clipping as plain HTML. I now have around 350 items that I need to concert back to MHT)

Thanks!

**If anyone wonders why I prefer clipping as MHT. 2 reasons :
- MHT files are indexed by other desktop search engines (makes it much, much easier to search all references at once),
- I can easily comment them in MS Word.

What desktop search engines do you use Armando?  I used to play around with them.  I think X1 was the one I liked the best.  Can't remember why I quit using them as they worked so much better than Windows, I think it was because I found them impacting speed.

I find that a "Desktop Search" software is mostly useful for scientifics/academics/[other professional occupations] that need to dig deep in documents, find personal notes about certain subjects, citations, etc.
Othewise, everything, or similar software + Windows Search are more than enough.

Many years ago (during my first PhD try) after much testing (Copernic, Google Desktop Search, X1, WDS, etc.), I settled on Archivarius and DtSearch.

I had many criteria, but the main ones were: speed, stability, lightness, accuracy (being able to find what I want, exactly, no missing files, indexing word comments, etc.), compatibility (many file formats).
As at the time I used the free X1 (they had a free version back then), really loved the interface, but it had problems with big files, performance and stability. So bought Archivarius, and got DTSearch through college.

DTSearch is the one I prefer, even with its oldish interface. Sophisticated syntax, can use RegEx etc. to get to the right content. That said, it,s not super user friendly and it's designed for businesses/professionals.

Archivarius usually fits the bill, but the interface is unpractical and it's slower (indexing, especially) and somewhat less precise than DTSearch (i.e. the search syntax is so so). I sometimes able to find stuff that DTsearch misses. It's more forgiving with hyphens and other punctuation marks.

I'd probably try X1 again, see if it's better than it was (in terms of above criteria), but... I'm not in a hurry as Archivarius and DTSearch (combined) allow me to find what I need.
