I thought this was a bug report but not sure now:
 
with Overstrike mode turned off I would have expected that if I paste in a cell, that the pasted text would be added to the current content.
Instead it replaces the current text - i.e. it works in Overstrike mode even if this mode is turned off
 
I would expect (and like) to see the option that pasted text would be added to text in the cell (when OVR turned off)
What do you think?

This would probably make my life a bit more complicated... I don't use over strike. But with the way it's configured now -- which I like -- I can always over strike when the cell is selected and a "paste" is performed.

Any other opinions on this? It doesnt seem to be a burning topic for the masses lol
 
Pierre, I had the idea that when you press F2 that the cursor should be at the end of the text that is in the cell -
currently it is at the beginning of the text content.
I realise that with overstrike off I can just start typing and it will be added to end of text, but as said above: my problem is with pasting text - currently I have to click F2, get to end of text somehow and then paste
I know that wont kill me but, the cursor proposal seems like a good compromise between current behaviour and "Overstrike off for pasting as well as typing"
 
I cant think of any reason not to have the cursor at the end of text block when editing, but others may work differently (?)

The trick I used was to just press "space" (puts the cursor at the end f text and adds a space character), and then paste. But with the new modification, I guess that won't be necessary. I actually liked the fact that F2 was putting the cursor at the beginning, so I had both choice : F2 for cursor at the beginning of text, space for cursor at the end (but adds a space). But it's okay, I guess. It might be better now... usage will tell...

I'll use that rather than F2 then - so really where the cursor goes is no longer important (to me) - sorry Pierre :-(
