Minor suggestion: I think any newly-created items should automatically be added to the current hoisted view. 
 
Right now, these new items do remain in view but if for some reason the grid is refreshed or the file is closed, the newly-added items are lost from view and have to be tracked down and manually added to the hoist.

How do you add your items ? If items are created in the grid (i.e. hit Enter), they are automatically added to the Hoist.

I add them by "Enter".  You're right.  They're not lost when the screen is refreshed.  But several times I've lost added items.
 
I think I figured it out:
 
1) open two versions of the same grid (>show in a new tab)
2) apply a different hoist to each tab
3) Refresh view > both hoists are maintained correctly
4) Close and re-open file > both tabs revert to the same hoist (one hoist view is lost)
 
Now that I understand how it works, I don't have a problem with it.  I guess it would be nice if the different hoists were maintained but I don't think it merits a lot of work to change.

Confirmed. Only one hoist is save in the database (the last one to close wins)
To save more than one hoist, you could clone the grid...
