I thought it might be fun to compare roadmap speculations

My current guesses:

Category 1) On-going:
 UI tweaks
Documentation

Category 2) Within the new several pre-releases:
 Hierarchical Tagging  Hierarchical Tagging System
additional html {doc} pane improvements.

Category 3) Absolutely has to get done before V1.0:
See Category 1

Category 4) Either after V1.0, else will slow down V1.0 considerably
[[node:4241#comment-20077]]
Replacing the doc pane component with an RTF one has been discussed for some time, and sounds to me like it may be quite a large undertaking.

[Edit] removed the word "speculation". Thanks Pierre for the update!.

Category 2)

It would be nice to have a hierarchical tagging system built in.  My bodge works well enough and is usefull but I'm sure Pierre could make a much better job of it !

In Categorie 3) for sure
- Complete all Calendar work. It must be "first class"...

This was the planned 'Calendar" roadmap, published a while ago:
  1. v105: Read-only view of non-repeating events
  2. v106: Support for Repeating Event
  3. v107: Read / Write for non-repeating events
  4. v108: Read / Write for Repeating events
  5. v109: Support one-way sync to InfoQube items
  6. v110: Support two-way sync to InfoQube items
  7. v111: Calendar UI improvements
Up until now, there hasn't been any changes to this plan. v108 was released and work on v109 is well underway.
However, some Calendar UI changes are required to be able to add events, so part of it will be done in v109 / v110 and the remaining in v111

HTH !

Is the roadmap still valid Pierre? Does it mean you're going to focus on Calendar functionalities right now?

Thanks for info,
Maciej

 Maciej,

I'll jump in here to update this thread, since I've seen that the answer is "yes", and buried within a recent thread  Version 0.9.110Pre10 is now available !
(comments 20515 thru 20517) :

excerpts from the thread:
As for v111, focus will move back to the original plan: Calendar UI and Sync.

FYI, the original plan was modified with 3 versions focused on UI (v108), Doc pane (v109) and Tags (v110)

I do think some good improvements have come out of this detour though

Good ??? You mean... Great improvements

"
Hopefully this helps. IMO the detours have been tremendous, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's done a fair amount of work on the 0.9.111 calendar already that we haven't seen preleased yet.

Isn't it about time to stop adding new features to InfoQube and concentrate on making it ready for a commecial release ?

(after finishing the hierarchical tagging system and the calendar obviously ! )

How many years has it been in development now ?  And it already has more features than most of it's rivals.

At some point you have to say "that is enough for the moment, now we concentrate on maintaining it".

If new features need to be added they could be put into a new version (version 2.0, version 3.0, e.t.c. ).

I don't know if this would generate more money or not but I think many people would appreciate the stability instead of constant updates.

Just a thought.

Exactly ! After v111, the calendar should be complete, off to final steps to a commercial release (and then work on 1.1, 2.0, etc)
