Hi IQUsers,

The IQ web hosting service (IX web hosting) is shutting down (acquired by Site 5) and it seems that this is being done in a very poor way.

What this means to us will be rebuilding this site, or a similar one, onto another server.

For you, it means that the community web site will soon be down. Please use the backup site until this issue is resolved: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/infoqube

I hope you have a copy of all the website content.

Will this have any effect on the development of InfoQube ?

How soon will things change ?

Hi Paul,

I took a copy yesterday and will again at regular intervals.
When I initially wrote this post, the email I had just received specified that the server was to be taken down on July 30th... After a long wait to chat with IX, it turned out the email was incorrect (  ) and that they meant August 30th !

As to slower dev, IQ is a one-man show, so time spent on rebuilding is of course time not spent doing dev or doc...

Hopefully, there will be something positive out of this at the end...
(such as using a more appropriate domain name !)

Pierre,

If you don't object, I'd like to download the forums using HTTrack just to have another fail-safe back-up that I could make available to others in a pinch.
