 Not so much a bug as an inconsistency. The Color Selector in the Field Properties jumps directly to the Windows Color picker and bypasses IQ's Color Picker which provides access to the customized Named Colors for the current database. Having IQ store the Color Name instead of the associated Color Value is a stroke of genius.
 
This is important for me as I name Colors based on their purpose as opposed to the associated Color Value. In theory, this will allow me to fine-tune color combinations after the fact and even create different Color Palettes to highlight different aspects. 
 
In the Calendar, the Field Color determines the Outline of the Event and I use different Date Fields for different Categories of Events (i.e. Meetings, Yearly, Work, etc.). I also use ItemForeColor to identify the Contact associated with the Event and ItemColor for the Activity associated with the Event.

Thank ! Names colors allow for (1) personal preferences and (2) quick appearance changes.
For example, one can remove all colors before sharing an outline. There are other ways to change how item colors are shown / not shown (i.e. in Grid Properties), but named colors is one way.
 
Regarding field color, I'll see if I can use named colors. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Being a long-time designer of PC-based software myself (my 1st application was written in dBase II on a monochrome dual-floppy IBM PC), I've only run across a handful of applications that have truly intrigued me; InfoQube seems to fit into that category. IQ seems to encapsulate many of the best features from other Information Managers in some surprising and innovative ways. The more I dig, the more impressed I become.
