Hi IQUsers,

Of course, Tags wouldn't be complete until available in the New Item dialog (also used by the Universal Clipper)

This is the proposed new layout:

For reference, this is what it looks like right now:

I think it looks very good Pierre
Cant think of any improvements.

It looks good, a bit "cleaner" than before..
1) please explain the html going away. It appears to now default to WYSIWYG.
2) please show what the Fields tab looks like; I want to make that several things added there would show well.
3) will the Fields tab be as easily accessed as it is now, via the keyboard?

Hi Keith,
  1. Doc (HTML) text box is now always shown, unless you increase the item's text box a lot
  2. The fields tab is not complete yet. I imagine it identical to the tags one, but showing Y/N fields instead
  3. Alt-T, Alt-F will move focus to the respective tabs

The doc pane area is not showing at all for me (portable version). I tried alt-up to minimize the item area, but the doc pane area still doesn't appear.
Since I haven't been using the new item add feature, I also went back to an older IQ portable version, and also found the doc pane missing on new item add.
Is there some setting/or some way to reset it?

Hi Keith,

Confirmed settings related bug...
  1. Close IQ
  2. In your user folder, edit the settings.ini file
  3. Find the entry butHTML and set it to =-1
  4. save
I'll fix it in the next version

I think this is a really important dialog box. I do not like the proposed design. My suggestions.

1. There is no need to make it small, make it larger enough to accomplish the goals. For instance, no need at all for separator tabs for tags and fields.
2. Per above, I don't care for tags and fields being separate tabs. They should both be visible at the same time. IMO the goal of this dialog should be speed, clip something into IQ as quickly as possible, and..
3. See everything at a glance and see the selections confirmed in a separate information field as you make them. Same as you had it before (now). This allows the user to visibly confirm they have selected all the fields and tags they want, before clicking on "add item".

I can create a suggested screenshot if there is interest.

In v111:
  • New: New Item dialog: Summary list of selected tags and fields
  • New: New Item dialog: Can now show / hide Tags and Fields panes
HTH !

^ the summary is nice

I really like David's suggestion of showing both Tags *and* Fields -- certainly on a FHD screen there's loads of space for this.

I see I can drag the Tags or Fields tab out of the window -- I thought I could maybe relocate one beside the other list, but that doesnt seem possible (?)
