I would like to say a BIG thank you to Pierre (and to everyone else for making this forum such a lively and interesting place).

But especially for Pierre who has been working very hard over the past year and has made some phenomenal progress.

I have more questions and suggestions but I will be not be posting them until the new year in order to give Pierre a break over Christmas.  He deserves it!

Many thanks Pierre and have a Happy Christmas !

You're welcome !

Christmas is officially over, so I'm curious what you had in mind...

As for me, the New Year brought Champagne, which naturally lead me to think of cork (flying across the dining room) and then to Cork boards...
(hint hint...)

HTH !

You must have psycic abilities, I was thinking about the Surface.
Christmas is over and it has been a good one !

I got an excellent gaming PC with a graphics card powerful enough to play all my favourite games at 60 fps at the highest settings !!!

And I have taken a one year sabbatical from my academic work to concentrate on other projects, although I don't think they had Skyrim, Elite Dangerous and Guild Wars 2 in mind when it was granted.

I might find some time for some serious work as well.  I think this is going to be a good year.

Hi Keith.

No precise hint for now, except that, as Paul pointed out a while back, "grids" is confusing to new users and will slowly be pushed back and replaced with "notepads".
Notepads can display items using a multitude of UIs, such as:
  1. Outline Grid (default)
  2. Outline Grid + Gantt pane
  3. Timeline
  4. Calendar (new)
  5. Map view
  6. Pivot table
  7. Pivot chart
  8. 2D Surface (new)
  9. ... (hint hint)
Each notepad has a "default view" which it opens in (right now, it always opens as a grid)

This change doesn't involve much work and will make it easier for new / casual users
