Hi, it is useful to have 'Property' panel opened on the right side of IQ.

However, not all forms are required, or needed for a item, for example, if the item is a contact infomation, then the 'contact', 'call' forms may help or may be required to use; but not for the 'GTD' , 'Finance' , 'invoice'  forms.

So my question is can we choose what forms to display on the property panel for different items ?

Regards
Sean

Hi Sean,

Items in IQ don't have any specific types. They can be anything... so there is no plan to implement that.

However:
  1. A separate pane for forms could be made. Useful when one has many forms
  2. The Grids section has a Current Grid heading
  3. When the Item Home is a grid, that grid's fields could be shown, that is, much like the Current Grid, there could be a Home Grid entry
  4. Any grid can be shown in the Grids section (settings in Grid properties)
  5. The same as we now have floating item editors, it could be possible make floating forms
Report back as to which one(s) of the above could do the trick for you

Thank you Pierre for your reply, I had tried to figure out how you suggested me those option to display different forms for different item.

  1. A separate pane for forms could be made. Useful when one has many forms - do you mean those option under the View/Panes ? there are only 1.property; 2 html editor; 3. notification pane that I can choose, so I am not so sure about what is 'a separate pane for forms' ?
  2. The Grids section has a Current Grid heading -  i can see in the property pane, that the "Gride' section showed the current grid's name, but I don't see how this can help me
  3. When the Item Home is a grid, that grid's fields could be shown, that is, much like the Current Grid, there could be a Home Grid entry  - i am not sure if I understand this
  4. Any grid can be shown in the Grids section (settings in Grid properties)
  5. The same as we now have floating item editors, it could be possible make floating forms
I think Pierre, I did not express myself well, lets put another way, is it possible to disable / hide some forms ?  because I do not want some forms show in the property in certain grid view.

One more thing, Pierre, recently when I tried to search some information in the forum/documentation, I couldn't do it because it pop up these words " You must include at least one positive keyword with 3 characters or more. "  after I key in and click search.  is there any problem in the forum/documentation server ?

Hi Sean,

In v113:
  • New: Grid Properties: Option to show only some forms in the Properties pane (i.e. other forms will be hidden when this grid is active)
re Search: Yeah, there are a few issues with the web site I need to look at, and that is one of them. It seems to be related to the installed versions of php...
