I want to create a default setting for text font, color, and background color.

There's an option for this, but then when you create a new grid, the default is set to "all" instead
of the setting from options.  Doesn't that make the options setting pointless since the grid is
created with a set default that's not affected by the options setting?

Is there some way around this?

My suggestion:

Change grid default setting from (blank = all; -1 = default), to (blank = default; -1 = all)

Doesn't that make more sense?

Hi Wayne,

What settings options are you referring to ? I don't see one which affects what columns show the color

It could be added of course...

Good suggestion !

For now, your best bet is to have a "default" grid and copy / paste its format to your new grid

OK, thanks for the suggestion.  I hadn't thought of that.

In v113:
  • Change: Grid: Columns showing text / back color: New entry: (all) to show color on all columns, leave blank to use setting in Tools > Options > This Database
