If you rename a field, you'll have to change the Source in Manage Grids for any grid that uses it as Source. The Grid Source setting is not updated when the name of the source field is changed.
Again, this might be a feature, not a bug!

In grids, the Source, Filter and Sort settings are stored as text and are not updated when a field name changes
