 Hello,

I had an issue with the installed version of IQ, so it was suggested to use the portable version. I've followed the steps and created a folder in C:\IQ\ and unpackaged IQ. I tried to launch IQ and received this error:

This app can't run on your PC; To find a Version for your PC, check with the software publisher.

So as suggested I ran the UnblockIQPortable script which didn't work, I also ran it via an administrator command line, but that also didn't help. I moved the IQ folder into my C:\Users\USERNAME\ folder which didn't worked, and moved it onto my second drive: D:\IQ\ and that also received the same error. I turned off SmartScreen, and re-enable UAC (disabled because this is a work machine).

IQ Version: 0.9.113f Portable
OS Version: Windows 10 1803 Enterprise

I've tried just about everything, I do have local admin access, so if there are any suggestions or you need more information, please let me know.

Regards,
Josh

 Thanks Pierre,

I did try disabling SmartScreen which didn't work. So after multiple setting changes, creating a VM SS of my computer, which still didn't work, I finally figured it out.

I use 7-zip to extract ZIP files, and 100% of the time I use the Extract to "APPNAME\" in the right click menu and extract it the download folder then rename and move the folder, mainly because we sandbox our download folder (so even if you download a malicious file it can't do anything other than mess up downloads). This last time I used Extract Files... and unzipped it directly to C:\IQ and it immediately worked.

So in case someone else has this occur, please try unzipping with options.

Cheers,
Josh

Hi Josh,

I'm not sure why it should be different using Extract to vs Extract (it must be something specific to sandboxing) but I'm glad you got it working
(I use the Windows built-in support to open zip files, and copy paste the content to a folder)
