After updating from 114L to 114N patch:

1) Copy text from external source
2) Select InfoQube item and enter edit mode so external text can be pasted
3) Ctrl-v to paste text: no longer works correctly:  as soon as I depress "Ctrl" InfoQube exits edit mode;  if I then carry out paste, it replaces all the existing cell text with the new text instead of adding it at the end.

Don't know if this is a bug or some new option that has been added that causes the behavior.  I've been up and down options several times and can't find anything relevant.

I can't think of anything legitimate to explain this: merely depressing the ctrl key should not do anything until another key is depressed, since it's used in many shortcuts.

Side question: when I update to a version that has a patch, do I:

1) Update directly to the patched version, or
2) Update to the base version (114N), then run the Patch installation after that

Comments

The problem appears to be limited to one file.  This file also hangs up every time I try to close it (perpetual hour glass).

I've run repair and compact without effect.  I've installed 114L, 114N, and 114N patch and they all have the same problems.

So I have two persistent problems:

1) Copy/paste misbehavior
2) Hang up on exit

I started checking my backups and went back until I found a file where problem #1 went away.  Then I went back farther and found a file where both problems went away.

Not sure how to proceed.  I can use the old backup then try to recover all the work I've done since then, and manually copy it over.  But I'm worried I haven't really solved the problem and the work will be wasted.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: I can live with both of these problems (right-click paste still works and I can kill the process to exit).  I'm more worried that I have a corrupted file that has other problems I don't know about.

If you do File > Close first and then close the program, does the issue go away ?

I use File>close as the only way to properly close a program, as far as I know.   When it hangs up, as it always does, I then kill the process.  Or sometimes the Window "program not responding" message pops up and I use that to close it.

Doesn't make the problem go away.

File > Close does not close the program, just the file
File > Exit closes the program...

If File > Close hangs the program, perhaps try to close all panes and tabs first
Another option is delete the Yourfile.ini file (same folder as the file) and start it. Try closing it immediately after it opens and report back

Yeah, sorry.  I must have been using "Exit" without thinking about it, because the program window always closes, too.

Now the problem file is closing properly (whether I use Exit or File Close), and the copy/paste problem has also cleared up.  I take it they were related somehow.

Pierre,

Sorry, I was tied up this weekend.  I just installed the updated patch and it looks like the problems have cleared up.  Thank you.

Hi Wayne,

I think I know the cause of the issue. I've released an update to patch v114n for it

Now, to install you can do one of:
  1. install the whole package, or
  2. if you have the specified version already installed (currrently v114m), then you can install the patch
