From time to time I come across this bug but can't reliably reproduce it. When I expand an item that has several children, sometimes the text of a good few of them will be invisible. Upon refreshing the grid, everything reverts to normal. Maybe you have some idea of what could be causing it.

This has happened to me quite a few times, and it's not always just children.  Not reproducible and it's cleared up with a screen refresh.

I actually have fairly long list of misbehaviors that occur semi-regularly, can't be reproduced, and eventually clear up by restarting the program or rebooting windows.

I had this once but a refresh (F5) cleared it.

Very occasionally there are display anomolies in IQ but F5 almost always clears them up.

Indeed, to improve reactivity, adding items and showing the actual text are 2 separate steps and it seems that under certain (rare) cases, the grid "forgets" to do the second.
In the past, I had seen this and fixed it. Evidently, it still occurs and I'll keep an eye on it and try to reproduce it

It's certainly not a biggie but thanks for keeping an eye out.

I now think this is related to setting the number of hidden sub-items to load in the background too low. On reload the items are no longer hidden, hence their re-appearance, I guess. Maybe the items to be loaded first should be selected by their 'lineage' rather than their item number or whatever critera are used.

I strongly suggest that an indicator / placeholder should be displayed instead of the item being shown as blank to prevent the user from deleting such items that have not been loaded and appear to be empty.

I also noticed that the statusbar info that pointed me to this setting refers to the wrong 'outline' number (1.2.25 instead of 1.2.33) in Options, but I guess these are hell to keep up to date once new settings are introduced...

Cheers

Talking to myself again, probably a symptom of old age setting in:

Just discovered it has nothing to do with the 'hidden subitem' setting after all. I went and upped that value to 5000, way more than I have items in grids, but just now I pasted an item with subitems and on expanding the parent, all the subitems were hidden until I refreshed the grid.
