Here are some issues I am experiencing:
  1. I only want one of my Google Task lists to sync with IQ. I selected it on intitial setup and so far that is the one that seems to be syncing. However every time I go back to the Google Connect dialog, every task list is checked again.
  2. If I set the sync to every 60 seconds, every time I go back to the Google Connecr dialog it is set to manual again.
  3. If I delete a task from Google, it becomes crossed off in IQ. Shouldn't it also be deleted in IQ, and visa versa?
  4. It appears that having something entered in the field "Task List" it what determines if the task will be carried over to Google Tasks? Does that mean that every time I enter a task in IQ that I want to carry over to Goolge Tasks i have to enter the name of a task list in that field? If so, I do not find that very efficient?
Thanks

Hi David !
  1. Confirmed and fixed in v115Pre2
  2. Confirmed and fixed in v115Pre2
  3. This is by design. Deleting an item could have impacts w.r.t. field values, Doc pane, sub-items. It's easy enough to find items that are strikethrough and delete  / hide them
  4. This is by design for now. Let's see how it works out when multiple task servers are implemented.
To have the TaskList auto-fill, you can use an auto-assign for the ToDo field:
    A:[TaskList]="YourList"
    E:[TaskList]=

Thanks for the prompt response Pierre! Yes, autofill will work perfect!

Actually I'd like it to be easier :-). Is there any field I can sort by so that I can have the crossed out items all together? If not, can you make it possible? As an example I just deleted about 30 items in Google Tasks. Now I'd like to be able to sort them quickly in IQ to delete them there, rather than hunt and peck to delete all 30. Also, I realize it would be easy if I just deleted them in IQ to begin with, but there are going to be a lot of times where I am using my phone and iPad.

Thanks

You can certainly sort / filter on field ItemFont. Deleted items will have a font of |S|
Simply add the ItemFont column to your grid or use another grid with the source ToDo AND ItemFont

Should the TaskListe field maybe have an autoassign rule for a ToDo value by default to add items with the TaskList field to the ToDo grid automatically?

I've just: created a new task list in GTasks, created a 'test' item in IQ, Entered the name of the new taks list in the TaskList field for the item in IQ, successfully synced with Gtasks, but the item only showed up in the ToDo grid after I manually entered a ToDo value for the item in the properties pane.

Cheers

Hi Left !

2 possible reasons for this:
  1. Tasklists are only updated when opening the Google Connect dialog, so perhaps this is because it was a new task list
  2. Field ID 83 is used for tasks. The name should be ToDo. If a field already exists with that name, the field will be named ToDo1. Check if field 83 is the grid source, perhaps it is not

- There is still a bug where the checkmarks for tasks lists set not to sync in Google Connect are reset to all lists checked for syncing on restarting IQ.

- The field nr. is 83, name is Todo for me, too. I now have my entire Action grid synced with GTasks (which is a blessing, thanks!), list 'Act', but none of these items appear in the ToDo grid unless I manually set a value for field 83 'Todo' for them. And that's probably as it should be as the grid source is 'Todo'. So this grid does not serve as an inventory of all items synced with GTasks as it is.

Only those that understand German... I studied it but could not make sense of your tasks.

And what values are given to tasks created outside of IQ ?

An example of an item created in GTasks, then synced:

Tasks created in IQ, auto-assigned a Task List and successfully synced to the corresponding GTask list still don't show up in the ToDo grid, though, even on the second sync.

I don't understand your screenshot, as the item is clearly shown in the ToDo grid right now.

ToDo grid shows items with a ToDo date...
  1. How did you create the task in IQ ?
  2. Did you create the item in the ToDo grid ?

You asked, "And what values are given to tasks created outside of IQ?"

So I created a task in Google and synced it back to IQ and took the screenshot - or did you want to see other values of it not visible in the ToDo grid?

The problem I have is with the other direction. For example, when I create an item by pressing Enter in my Action grid, it is auto-assigned to the "Act" Google task list and synced to Google, but it doesn't then automatically appear in the ToDo grid. It only appears there if I manually assign it a value for the ToDo field.

No, I created it in my Action grid, not the ToDo grid. Is it supposed to only work for items created in the ToDo grid?

I hope this above is clear.

OK got it now

Google sync looks at all items that have a value for the TaskList field

Like I said before, the default ToDo grid uses the ToDo field as its source. By creating your task in the Action grid, you're not assigning a value to the ToDo field and hence the item is not shown there.

Two options for you:
  1. Add an auto-assign to a field used in the Action grid to fill the ToDo field if empty, or
  2. Change the ToDo grid to use another source, such as TaskList

Having changed the grid source, everything is as it should be, thank you!
