I'd like any unnecessary blank lines at the top of the item to be removed. For example, this often occurs when I split items. Maybe it could be limited to just that: removing whitespace from the beginning of items that were created as the result of a split. Thanks!

Hi Left,

Can you provide a sample item to split ?

When I tried it, it did remove whitespaces (when that option was selected)

Thanks, Pierre. I was talking about using Ctrl-Shift-S while in edit mode to split at a certain position in the item text. (I wasn't even aware of the other option!) In that case, it seems, a blank line is always inserted at the top of the second item, which is what irks me.

Oh, and while we're talking about stuff I wasn't aware of: I can't make head or tails of option # 1.2.27 - "Option Double-click when editing opens linked file" - how does it work / what exactly does it affect?

Cheers

OK, got it

  1. In v115a, "in-edit" split will use the "out of edit" setting regarding trimming the content
  2. While editing, a double-click will try to open the file or hyperlink (much like Ecco did)

Ah, I got the file opening option to work now, thanks! Still dreaming of having this work for items with "item text = file path only" without having to enter edit mode first so dumping files into a grid would work as well with copy / paste as with drag and drop...

In v115a, if the double-click action is set to Expand / Collapse AND the item has not sub-items, IQ will parse the item text and try to open the file or follow the URL
