I'm at my wit's end about what seems to be an unending stream of issues.  I am constantly  having to interrupt work to try to figure out why some kind of misbehavior is happening.

Yesterday I had a long sequence of text made up of big blocks of text.  I did dozens of splits to create a series of items of only a few lines each.

When I returned to work later, all of my splits had been partially re-done.  All the split items were there but all the items they were split from still contained the full text, too.  So I had to go in and delete the extraneous text in each item.

There have been many times that  I split items where a new item is created but the text also remains in the original item.  This, too, has comes and goes.

Just now I tried to create a grid with a column set to match another grid.  I loaded the column set for the grid.  The columns that loaded did not match the grid they came from.  Columns were out of order and columns were missing.

So I set about creating the layout manually.  This involved grouping columns.  As I was doing this, things went completely crazy.  Column groups started showing up in multiple locations.  Then columns were being substituted into groups I had already created, while other columns were removed from view.  Columns were being assigned and removed from groups without any input from me.

Another long-standing problem is having two columns side by side and when I try to group them, the group command is grayed out.  This has happened many times.

I don't post 90% of the issues I have because it gets to be pointless as the problems cannot be reproduced, even by me.  They come and go constantly.  I have a list of 27 recurring problems that appear and disappear randomly.

I compacted and repaired the database.  I don't what else to try.

Hi Wayne,

Please do make a single tread with your issues, that will help me get to it
Regarding what you report here:
  1. Split: Specify if you're using the WYSIWYG editor or not
  2. Column groups is a bit delicate, especially complex setups. I need to test it  further. If the columns were changed, it is always a good idea to close the grid and re-open it before trying to copy the grid.
  3. Grouping disabled: I just checked the code, it is disabled if only one column is selected and if this column is not a grouped column

I didn't split the problems out because I was thinking that the problem isn't within InfoQube but with my system somehow interfering with the operation of InfoQube.  Don't know if that is a viable explanation but it seems like I am the only one who has these problems, and the problems themselves are not reproducible.

Re #3: I select two adjacent text columns that are not part of any group.  The group command is still grayed out.  I pick two other adjacent text columns in exactly the same way and the group command is available.  Don't know why it will not work on these two columns, or the other instances where it has occurred.

edit: WYSIWYG was turned off

I did a bunch of attempts on the two columns that wouldn't group.  I think maybe it is because the columns were not "registering" as being selected.  When I tried to select multiple columns using shift, one of the problem columns would often remain blank (unselected).

After going through several cycles of saving, refreshing, and closing/opening the grid, the group command re-appeared for these two columns and it is working correctly again.
