I tried to clip a webpage into InfoQube this morning. Evernote had failed to import it giving an error. InfoQube did manage to import it, but then would crash each time I tried to display the webpage in the document pane.

I managed to stop it crashing by closing the document pane, then deleting the item in the grid.

Here is the broken webpage in case you want to test it.

Comments

Further to my earlier comment, trying to edit another HTML document that I have copied into the document pane also causes InfoQube to crash. I am trying to delete unwanted image links. When I click on the image frame (in edit mode) and hit the delete button, InfoQube crashes.

Confirmed for the delete key, backspace works as expected though. I'll look into it

Follow up:
Can you try:
  1. Execute Edit > Clean up HTML tags, clear the tags list and click OK
  2. Save
  3. Change item and go back to the item
  4. Try to  delete the image

Hi,

Following these four steps works fine, and does not cause a crash. I can delete the image using the Delete key, and paste in another one.

Hi !

It imports fine here, can you provide the import detailed steps and the Doc pane mode (edit / browse)

Thanks

Hi,

I don't remember what the doc pane mode was when I clipped it. I had just created a new grid, and I clipped the page using the web clipper. So I'm doing the clip again now.

  • I have an open grid, and hit ENTER to create new item. The document pane is open in edit mode.
  • Webpage is open, nothing is selected.
  • Hit {Win}{Alt}I (my custom shortcut) to bring up the web clipper.
  • A dialog pops up to select an IQBase. Pick one and click OK.
  • New Item to IQBase dialog pops up with nothing filled in. I copy the URL from the address bar (CTRL+C) and paste it in the URL box (CTRL+V). I copy-paste the article title into the top box. Boxes that I have checked are: Copy URL Content, Add clipping info, Current Grid.
  • I click Add Item. Please wait dialog pops up.
  • Item has been added to the top of my grid as a new item.
  • I click on the item in the grid using my mouse. Document appears in doc pane. It won't scroll.
  • I click the doc pane to "view" mode. The view is blank.
  • I click away to another grid and back. After a long wait the view loads.
  • I click the doc pane to "edit"mode. InfoQube crashes.
  • Reopen InfoQube. Thankfully it is in same grid but different item. Close doc pane, then select corrupt item and hit CTRL+D

The web is getting crazy... 100KB for a single page... beurk

For  complex pages like these, I recommend saving as MHT if you don't want to edit
If you want to edit, select all and then clip

Tip, if you select 2-3 characters, the clipper will be able to retrieve the title and URL for you
