 Hi,
 
When I import a tab delimited text file into the Tags Grid, the TagID is not generated and the imported tags are not recognized as tags.
The text file is attached.
 
If I were to C&P the same text into the Tags Grid, the TagIDs are generated as expected.

Indeed, the import does not execute auto-assign rules automatically (for performance reasons). A couple of options for you:
  1. When you import, in Import options, 2: Add all items to fields: , add TagID. This will auto-generate the ID, or
  2. Instead of importing, copy paste the content of your text  file to the Tags grid. Once done, you may need to select all items and set the Tags field to checked
    This can be done using the Properties pane or simply by selecting all items in the Tags column (Column > Select column) and pressing the space bar to toggle the Tags checkboxes

I tried the C&P method earlier and that seems to work
