Say you do a live search that brings up a subitem, and you display it in the search grid.

If you look at the "Shown in n grids" section of the Properties pane, it does not necessarily show the grids where the item can be displayed as a subitem.

If I have Context Parents on, I can click on the Context Parent where the grid I want to display IS shown in the "Shown in n grids", but that won't take me to the subitem I was on in that grid; I have to find that subitem in that grid.

So, is there a way to go directly to that subitem in a grid in which it appears? If not, could that feature be added?

Are you just trying to go directly to a subitem in its grid from the Live Search results?

I created two subitems in different grids. In Live Search, the grid for each was displayed in the "Shown In" column. When I clicked on the grid link shown, it took me directly to the subitem in that grid.

So you cannot go directly to the subitem through the Properties Pane but you can do it through the main view.

Maybe I am not understanding.

Hi Wayne, I did a little experimenting. I think if the subitem meets the filter of the grid, the grid name will be shown in "Shown in n grids". And if you click on the name of that grid under "Shown in n grids", you will go directly to that subitem in that grid.

But if that subitem does not meet the filter of the grid, and is shown in that grid only because it is a subitem of an item that does meet the filter of that grid, the name of that grid will not be shown in "Shown in n grids", so there is nothing you can click on to take you that subitem in that grid.

Hi Pierre, when I checked the name of the field/grid source in the All Fields section - the name of that grid did not show up under "Shown in n grids", not after an F5 refresh of the live-search screen, and not after entering the same search in the Omnibox. However - the grid name did show up in "Shown in n grids" after I closed the open "Live-Search" tab and then repeated the search to open a new "Live-Search" tab. That's ok, I'll just need to remember that's what I'll need to do.

If the sub-item was recently added or is deep in the tree hierarchy, it is possible that the grid does not know of its presence. Press Ctrl+S before doing a Live-Search to update the grid item list. It may help
