When the manage grids dialogue is opened, the grids should be sorted alphabetically.  Mine come up scrambled every time.  Then when I click on the header to sort, it sorts them in reverse order, so I have to sort them again.
 
Just a couple of extra unnecessary steps every time I go to the grids dialogue.  I know this has been discussed before.  Seems like we used to have a "save sort" option but I don't think it worked.

If you right click on one of the grids in the list, there is an option to save sort order. It doesn't work perfectly, but it mostly works.

Thanks, I've tried that in the past and it didn't work but will give it another try.
 
First few tries worked.  Will see if it holds up over time.

Same experience as the past: the sort is scrambled again.  The "save sort order" only works for a little while.

The grid list order is not sorted by design, so you can have your preferred / most used ones at the top
As Lucas pointed out, once you like the order, you can save it (right-click > save order)
 
I'll fix it so it sorts ascending on first click

As I say above, the sort order doesn't stick.  It worked the first few times I tried it yesterday but today it's back to scrambled order.
 
Maybe it loses memory of it when computer awakes after overnight sleep mode?
 
Sort ascending on first try will help.  Thanks.
