Not sure if this has been mentioned before (couldn't see it on forum search) but it'd be cool if the filter/search terms could be highlighted somehow (different background colour)

The only issues we'd need to work through are:

- 'search' exists in a few spots - grid filters, column filters and the search window
- Would probably only work for 'substring' searches eg *example*.  What to highlight when more advanced filters are being used could be tough.

Hi Mark. This is the only thing I now miss from EN 2.2.

I think this is what's requested in Mantis #276 & #661.

I didn't find any discussion of this in the previous forum [node:554,"reference"], but there was a mention of it in the DC forum -- link to nonexistent node ID 556 -- a long time ago (Dec 2007): http://www.donationcoder.com/Forums/bb/index.php?topic=10432.225    (reply #246 and #247).

"As to highlighting found text, yes, I'm waiting on some improvements by the grid manufacturer for that one
I also want to add radio buttons to select the field type to search (text, date, numbers)"

Pierre, has the grid had any improvements to better support highlighted search?

Ah, an EN2.2 user!  What a pile of excrement version 3 was, eh?  :)

It might even have been me that asked a year ago, I can't remember.  But assuming the you can make the background yellow by editing tags (which you can currently) you would imagine it's possible to do this.  Possible doesn't mean convenient or practical though- so I'll also be keen to hear Pierre's response!

Cheers
