Can I do the following without causing problems with my databases?  I think I can but I want to confirm.

1) Close current InfoQube files and leave my current full installation in place (v120Pre2).

2) Launch a previous portable version of InfoQube.

3) Open current databases and make changes using the old portable version.

4) Close the files, re-open them with the current version (which was left installed) and continue with work normally.

This question has come up in my mind before where I needed a function that was working in a previous version but wasn't working currently.

I tried it once before using full installations and ran into some problems with lost toolbars and settings when I returned to the current version.

I was hoping to leave my current installation and use a non-interfering portable version.

Hi Wayne,

If the old version is not too old, there should be no problem using your IQBase with both program versions. And you do not need to close one to open another... Both program instances can open the same file at the same time. Then either

  • Press F5 to refresh a grid that was edited in the other instance, or
  • Enable Options > Database > Multi-user (2.4.9)

Looks like old versions aren't available on the download page.  All my previous versions are the regular installers, which caused problems for me previously.

Is there some way to access previous portable versions?  I don't know which version I need.  I was going to try different ones until I found one with working copy-special.

If you can me which installed version worked, I can put the portable version online. I'll also update v120 today or tomorrow with this fixed

All versions are still on the server. Copy the URL of the download link and change the version number. Paste back in the browser address bar and press Enter. Should start download

How do I ?
