Sorry for trivial question, but what is the simplest way to move an item right after editing it?

After I have edited an item, I am still in edit mode and the item cannot be moved. I therefore have to click elsewhere and then click back to select the item so that I can move it.

Is this the way to do it or is there some way to move the file right after I competed the editing?

F2 or Enter

(remember that until you exit editing, nothing is saved. That is why you can press Esc to cancel editing)

F2 or Enter

That requires using the keyboard while I use the mouse to drag-drop the item. Enter also doesn't work for me as that creates a new item (I like it that way - like in Ecco).

Maybe Dbl-click after done editing could select the item?

This requires using the keyboard...

True, but if you did some editing, you evidently used the keyboard, so your hands are there. Steps are:

  1. Move focus to a cell
  2. Start typing
  3. When done typing, hit F2 (or Enter)

That said, with the mouse, you can click left or right of the item. It also ends editing

Hey viking,

Tab works as well to end editing. Since you don't want to use Enter, and F2 is a bit out of the way, maybe that'll hit your sweet spot?

How do I ?
