When I copy-special an item and paste it in a different file, I used to get two dialogue screens before the item would paste.

Suddenly, the second screen stopped showing up and the item now pastes immediately after the first screen ("Create new items and put them in this grid").

I can't remember what the 2nd screen was, and everything is working ok, as far as I can tell.

Does anyone still get the second dialogue screen?  What am I "missing"?  Can't figure out why the dialogue procedure would change when I'm doing nothing different (I don't think!).

Hi Wayne,

When you do Paste and there are multiple formats in the clipboard, a dialog may be shown:

  1. If you haven't selected a default paste format
  2. Or if the default paste format is not on the clipboard
  3. The default paste format is set by checking the checkbox in the Paste Special dialog
  4. To force the display of the dialog, do Paste > Special (Ctrl+Shift+V)

Once the paste format is determined, there may be an additional dialog for paste options (depending on what content is in the clipboard)

I hope this clarifies the process

Are you saying the checkbox option inside the Paste Special dialogue is what controls whether it's a one-step or two-step paste?  That's not what I'm seeing.

I've tried the setting both ways multiple times and it has no effect on the regular paste process.

It has now switched back to the two-step paste and, again, I did not change any settings to cause it.

These are not multiple format items, just XML (items copied from one InfoQube file to another).  When I'm given the option to pick a format, XML is the only one shown.
