Adding a custom colour doesn't retain them for next time.

And if you go to edit one, you get the standard palette rather than the custom one- to get back to the custom palette you must first overwrite your custom colour by clicking one of the default ones, and start again.

That is because colors are often controlled by the urgency field which uses a formula in relation to a vb script.
I've personnally written a new script to auto assign colors to specific fields and prevent modification by the urgency field calculations.

I guess that something could be done (an option maybe ?) to give priority to "custom applied" item colors over those which are calculated and applied vias VB scripting.

The colour dialog probably comes from a controls pack (codejock or whatever) but if possible I guess it should have that 'choose any rgb' picker and the Hex (or whatever it is) representation.  The 'add custom colour' should be removed it if isn't an available option.

oooh. I get it. I didn't understand what you first said in your first post. I thought you were speaking of items not retaining the custom colours... But that wasn't it, right ? you were speaking about the colour dialog.

So if this is a recurrent  problem, you should probably add it to mantis.

I'm still not clear. Can you specify what dialog window and what color it is about? Thanks

Hi Pierre, steps below.  It's a low priority issue though, maybe we should focus on other issues and store this for later.

a) Go to options -> Grids -> Selected Items Back colour (or any other colour one)
b) On the 'palette' tab, select a colour from one of the two bottom rows, to bring up the full colour selector.
c) This is where it's a bit odd.  If you click on 'add to custom colours' without clicking on the top right first , it will add a colour to the first custom colour.  But next time, that colour is lost.
d) If you select a colour from the top right grid first, then click 'add to custom colours' the button does not work.

OK got it. Agreed that this is low priority, but you can add it to Mantis nevertheless.
