If you look at the screenshot, you can see that it sticks out at the bottom. Also, when I activate other windows after IQ, the bar occasionally pops up on top of those other applications and then quickly disappears again. If it can't be taught to behave better, I'd like to disable it as I'm fine with a set width.

There was an issue when the IQ window was maximized with the option to hide the title bar which is now fixed. However from your screen shot this wasn't the case. It must be a Windows high DPI scaling issue which I don't have the time to track down right now. I added an option to show / hide the splitter bar:

I've had it disabled for a while now but just had another look:
When enabled, the slider still pokes out at the bottom over IQ's statusbar for me. Also, when I hover over it, then Alt-Tab to another program with the slider showing, it will not be hidden and will show over the other program's window.
