Coming back to IQ after a few months' hiatus where I needed to be on mobile, I am delighted with the new feature of having a Surface sub-view for each grid. However, I can't find any corresponding field (like the "Surface1" field for the main Surface view). I can create items on a Grid Surface sub-view, and they also appear on the grid, but what about vice versa? If I create an item on the grid, how can I get it to also appear on the Surface sub-view?
How do I ?

Hi Lucas, Welcome back!…
Hi Lucas,
Welcome back!
Thanks for reminding me to update the Documentation. Surface views work the same way as Card views: they are loosely connected to grids.
To add items to a Surface view, simply copy items from anywhere and paste it in the Surface view

Thanks! Okay. I had…
Thanks! Okay. I had developed a workflow with the main Surface view where I would automatically add items to the Surface by adding the "Surface1" property. It would be great to have similar functionality for Surface sub-views. For example, sometimes for brainstorming I want all the items I am generating in a grid to appear in the Surface. Copy-paste will be fine, but something more automatic would be nice. Plus, when there many items, it could become hard to remeber whether a Grid item is already on the surface, so again, a property would help.
(Alternativley, if creating a property for each Surface sub-view is too cumbersome, another approach would be to have a toggleable option to include all grid items in the Grid Surface sub-view.)
I've been meaning to add…
I've been meaning to add sync options for both Card and Surface views. It is now on the list:
Awesome! That will be…
Awesome! That will be perfect.
