I have the pop up list set up and working. Several hours later, I want to add to the contents of the pop up list, so I go to the Auto assignment box under equations. It is blank. I did not delete the contents, nor did I fool around with this field (or any other) between the time I created this field and the time I wanted to modify it.

Any ideas?

Wrong text box maybe ?

The text box for pop up list entries is in the "editor" section...

No, I used the correct text box. Besides, the drop down list was working, so the box must have been populated correctly. Anyyway, it just happened again. IQ was running for several hours and I was using the recreated drop down box when I needed it. I went to make an entry and the drop down (pop up) was blank. On examination of the field, I see that the box is no longer populated with the delimited text. Yes, it is delimited as required.

I'm not having that kind of problem here.

However...

I noticed that input masks seem to be incompatible with having a drop down menu.

There seems to be some problems (not working as expected ?) with the options :
- Read Only
- Entry must be in list

They don't really do anything...

Pierre ?

If by pop up list you're talking about a list so can user can pick one to enter into a field, Ex: a list of states, i.e. NY, CT, AK, etc, then you are not alone. I've had my lists go blank as well. I thought it was because I had updated IQ from version x to version y.

I've also got this problem, but would add:

  1. In my case, an SQL SELECT statement (used to populate the list from another field) has gone missing
  2. So if I click on the field in a grid, the drop-down list is now empty
  3. When I try to put things back the way they were using the Manage fields dialogue, I cannot even select the fields in the Editor section

Thank you all for your help and confirmation. At first I thought it was me, but when it happened a second time (and by then I was keeping a close watch for this), I  was fairly certain of the problem.

This is really weird!

Is it possible to provide a screenshot of the whole dialog?

I would not know what you want. I have populated the correct box with correctly delimited text. The pop up box and selection process works as expected. After quite some time, it  stops working. Upon inspection, the previously fillled in box is empty. I don't see how screen shots would matter. The box is full, the box is empty. It is worrisome because this is a type of data which is simply vanishing.

As you see, others are reporting this too. Please let me know if you need further information.

Hi Jon, thanks for your explanations. Even if it seems useless, screenshots of the whole "Field management" dialog could still be useful.

I'll test this. IIRC, this hasn't ever been a problem before...
