I've asked this question a number of times & have yet to get a workable ressponse.

After I write an article  I want to send it directly out of IQ to the editor. How do I do this?

Both Gmail & Yahoo use secure SSL connections. I don't know how to set up for that.
I would prefer to use Gmail

Could someone please finally help me with this issue?

Hi "Slightly frustrated" Jan

Currently a 2 step process:
  1. Select all html pane content (Ctrl-A). Copy
  2. Click an email link. This will open your email client (TB I suppose) and Paste. If you want this email to go out through GMail, setup TB to use the GMail SMTP server
The new print dialog could be enhanced to do this in 1 step.

Thanks Pierre but how does this work with IQ's built in email POP & SMTP settings under Tools | Options | POP3 email?  There's even a keyboard shortcut for this. I guess I'm confused.

Some more info:
  • The smtp is used for the HTML export >> mail-merge only. When you click on an email link (in a grid, properties pane or html pane), your email client should open.
  • The pop setting is used for the (rather limited) email-checker only.

Pierre, sorry to be so dense here but if IQ calls my email client (which it does just fine w a <CTRL>+<CLICK), I don't understand why IQ needs any SMTP settings at all.

In HTML pane, if I <CTRL>+A & click on an email link within html, IQ calls my email client, inserts the address, waits for a subject & then I can paste into msg.  That much I understand.

You refer to HTML export. & a print menu. Where the heck is that?

Basically, IQ can perform a mail-merge of items using a template file. This merge can either be printed or send by email. This is where the SMTP server is required.

Grid>>Export to a web page>>Use Template file>>Email Merge...

OK,Pierre, I'm following so far. So now I get a good template, etc & I want to email directly out IQ, I use the keyboard shortcut to use IQ's SMTP server.
Back to my original question:
the two servers I have access to both require SSL authentication but I don't know how to set that up.
