As reported here : -- link to nonexistent node ID 304 --,  the changes done in the grid management window to specify the "Search" or "Scratch" grid for searching/quick search results etc. (View>Grids>Manage grids, and in the dialog : Options>Default grid for search results...) don't stick.
 
I tried many times and it's always reproduceable. Is it only me ?
 
I'm using the portable version.

You are right. I tried this and experience the same results under Vista SP1.

No, I have the same problem. Which means that I have to set the options every time I restart before I can do searches - which then only stick for the rest of that session.

This is not fixed in the current build -- not that it should, though...
 
Just to confirm that the empty database I sent you by e-mail on June 23rd has the same problem : impossible to have the search/scratch grid definition to stick between two IQ restarts. It should be relatively easy to diagnose the problem with it if you can recreate it.
 
(I can send you the database again if you want).

The issue seems to related to a specific grid. Your grid Tasks_ has too many parameters (source, filter, sort) which prevents some database operations to be completed.
 
I'll fix this issue, but in the meantime, try removing some parameters, such as some of the sorting ones

I removed all filters + sorting parameters in the tasks_ grid. I but it didn't change anything. I even tried removing most filters (especially complex ones) etc. from most grids. Still nothing.
(e.g. :  I checked "use as scratch pad grid" for the scratCh grid, saved, and then quit IQ and restarted it : the "use as scratch pad grid" is still unchecked. Same for inbox and search options.)

Thanks I've modified that. I probably turned that option on at some point to check something. It didn't change anything to the default scratch/search/inbox grids settings though.
 
 
Does modifying these cures the problem on your side?

BTW : I never had that problem before version C, and I don't think that the tasks_ grid filters were "greatly" modified in the last 6 months.
It also seems that several users are experiencing the same problem, not just me.

This was related to the regional setting. This is now fixed
