tried your steps Jan and it works okay here

Does it always happen - is it maybe only with MHT? - mine are almost all HTML but the couple of MHT worked okay too

I can't reproduce it either.

1- I closed all panes, closed IQ -- and before made sure an item with HTML/MHT content was available in the grid that would open at startup
2- I started IQ. No pane opened/visible
3- I selected an item containing HTML
4- hit F12 : content is there and visible.

I tried with MHT too -- same results.

I still cant reproduce it either Jan -

btw whats with just F12 to open the HTML pane ? - I have to hit Shift+F12 to open the HTML pane - do you have the pane open but hidden? or was that just an oversight or does your & Armando's IQ work differently to mine!!?? :-)

My HTML pane is hidden or closed. (usually hidden). F12 calls HTML pane, <SHFT>+F12 closes it
@Armando & Tom: Thanks for testing.
I will try to post a video as I can replicate this situation
Maybe I'm overlooking some piece of information that I haven't passed along.

  • If you do View>>Goto Pane>>Grid--HTML, do you see F12 as a shortcut
  • or else, if you goto Customize>>Keyboard. Category=Edit and select Grid <<-->>HTML, is F12 assigned to that command? (BTW command should be under view, not edit. I'll fix that)

1) no Shift+F12
2) yes

F12 actually isnt working at all here in IQ - also in test portable install. I'm unable to get it to show in customise shortcuts either.

anyone else having that problem?
First I thought the F12 key may be broken on my keyboard but, no, it's working on other shortcuts in other programmes

It works here.
either something else (like AHK) is "steeling" the F12 shortcut key -- it can happen -- or you might have to reset the keyboard shortcuts assignments in the customize dialog.

it works now after a computer restart -
I dont think I had anything new running (I was trying out ditto clipboard extender at some stage yesterday - will check that)  - Windows was doing it's update thing too.
Hopefully thats the end of it anyways
