The only thing that I am in need of is a way to sincronize my data to my smart phone (Calendar and Phone book).

I use a Palm Treo.  Is there a way to do this currently?  If no, is there a plan?

thanks and keep up the good work.

There is no immediate way, but it is planned.
  1. Initially, the sync will be using Outlook as a bridge (sync with Outlook, then Outlook can sync with the zillions other devices).
  2. After initial release (1.0), custom sync providers will be created (most likely using the recently released Microsoft Sync Framework

Like a lot of people I have to use Outlook (notice the word "have" as opposed to "want" ).  One of the things Outlook does give me due to its dominant market share, is the ability to sync with a lot of other programs.  Which makes it a decent repository for then in turn accessing that info from my Blackberry etc.  Anyhow, the point of my long question being...will you be supporting full sync for tasks, calendar, contacts etc.?

Yup. Full sync is planned. These will be implemented in the following order:
  1. Contacts
  2. Calendar
  3. Tasks

You might want to consider:

1. Calendar
2. Tasks
3. Contacts

My reasoning is that contacts can be captured easily.

I can only guess at most users habits, but I would guess that most of us are attracted to IQ because if its incredible project and task management capabilities, and already have a program we are storing all of out contacts in that is easy to sync to a smart phone.  i.e. I also think that calendar and tasks or visa versa would be a priority before contacts.

Humm... not so sure. Each user has his/her own reason to use IQ and are coming from a different perspective. As an example, IQ can replace EN which has nothing to do with task management, but more generally information management (AFAICT). Users could be coming from:
  • Ecco
  • Outlook
  • Project
  • EN, Surfulator (2-pane outliners / web grabber)
  • UR, MyInfo (2-pane + attributes)
  • Access
  • Excel
And each have a different set of "expectations".

Sorry, info management is a given and should defintelly have been at the top of my list .  But I still say you won't have a lot of people switching because they are looking for a contact manager.  Of course I suppose you could say that is a part of info management .

Pierre, will this full sync be based on outlook, a program I -- for one -- refuse to buy or will it be based on something else.

Depending on the Google calendar sync capabilities, which seems to be progressing at a fair pace, a dedicated provider may be written (step 1.5 in the above list). If anyone wants to help...

Somewhat OT... anybody using Mozilla Sunbird as a calendar application? Google Calendar can sync with it...

What about Lightning?...
