After adding a colour to grid options incorrectly, the file cant be opened

I added a colour to a file, I forgot to add the | after the name
i.e. I added this to start of the colour list:-
Grey#DDDDDD|
instead of -
Grey|#DDDDDD|

I close & reopen file - it starts to load and nothing happens
Says xxxx.sndb loading (or something similar) on the titlebar

Seems to slow down the programme thereafter - after restart prob okay

Also happened with default new file (with info)

[edit] I've replaced it with a backup - but could this be corrected by editing the ini file?

Comments

Okay -
not only did I forget to add the '|'
I also added the colour with the wrong code - using html hex instead of VB hex number

This worked
Grey|&hDDDDDD|
and a nice grey it is too ;-)

required reopening of grid

Problem with the file remains the same i.e. incorrectly add colours & your file seems to be kapputt

Cant find a page clearly telling how to add a colour, if there isnt any I can add one later this week, maybe under 3.10.20.70 This file>General

I'll look into this in priority. One thing is for sure, the file is not kaputt and can easily be fixed. When I initially tried to do what you did, my file opened just fine, but without item colors.

I only installed H5 this morning (I seem to have missed it somehow)
Opened my main file, got this message:

---------------------------
InfoQube
---------------------------
Error loading colors specific to this IQBase. Use Tools>>Options to set these again. (You can open a backup file to retrieve the item color settings)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
When I look in the file options, the colours are all listed there as before, but there's no colours listed in the item context menu & there's no colour highlighting of items.

I dont have any other files with modified colour highlighting - other files open okay

I've gone back to H4 - if I open the same file with H4 there's no problem.

here's my named colours in case that relevant
Grey|&hDDDDDD|
Red|&HAAAAFF|
Orange|&H99CCFF|
Yellow|&HAAFFFF|
Blue|&HFFFFAA|
DarkBlue|&H00D5A071|
Aquamarine|&HFFFF0B|
Powder|&HF5DEB3|
Plum|&HDDA0DD|
Green|&H81B895|
LtGreen|&HA1DB66|
Purple|&HE0BBCC|

I don't know if that would make a difference -- probably -- but you should remove the "|" at the complete end (should be Purple|&HE0BBCC, instead of Purple|&HE0BBCC| )

Fixed in the next release

BTW, Armando was correct, remove the last | and the error message will go away and you can use H5.
