I've worked through the basketball example. The only thing I didn't get worked out was how to remove the Grand Total row from the pivot table as shown in the documentation under Welcome.

Thanks,
Mark

Could you copy/paste the corresponding section, as I don't quite see what grand total you're referring to

There's a screenshot just after the words: "At this stage you should have this:"

In that screen shot, you can see the table has a grand total line.

Scroll down 2 lines and there's another  screenshot just after the words: "The final BasketBall stat application could look like this:"

That screen shot shows all the players names, their summary scores, but no grand total line. Somewhere between screen shot one and screen shot two, the Grand Total line was eliminated. I've right clicked and roamed through the menus, but can't find the setting to eliminate that grand total line.

Thanks,
Mark (who doesn't even like basketball ...)

It looks like the first screen cap you mentioned is an Excel Pivot Table shown within SQLNotes, while the next one is the actual Basketball grid in SQLNotes.

Only a guess here, but I would say that this grid used the pivot table from Excel to calculate all the stats but does not use the Grand Total line in the grid. Although I imagine it could.

OK got it.
  • right-click on the Player Name header and uncheck the Sub-total

Thank you ... that was easier to understand than ... basketball!
