That happens when columns are set to autoresize.

BTW this autoresize cannot be changed in the grid management window while the grid is actually opened. I suspect that there are other options that won't be changed when a grid is opened at the same time as the grid management window.

Comments

  1. Oups, this is a major UI problem . Portable zip package was updated with a fix
  2. Humm... works here. Uncheck the auto-size and try to resize columns

2.--> nope. It just doesn't work. It works only if the grid is closed. If it's visible, change doesn't stick. I've tried several times.

Could you try to reproduce it on a new file, as I've tried everything here without success

Same thing with a new file...

1- I open a grid.
2- right click on tab --> manage grids
3- unselect auto size...
4- click on save, click on close
5- try changing the properties pane width  -- > Grid column adapts width ( = doesn't work)
6- close grid, reopen it, try --> doesn't work (Grid column adapts width)

BUT :

1- close grid
2- view--> manage grids
3- unselect auto size...
4- click on save, click on close
5- open grid, try --> works (= column don't adapt width)

(note that I also have other problems with Grid menu not functioning properly after changing the grid order in grid management window, and grid menu not functioning properly when loading another database... This one too, you don't seem to be able to reproduce and I can reproduce it 100% of the time. Only remedy : close infoqube, restart it...  :(

But ... I don't seem to be the only one experiencing problems with the grid management window)

OK, got it. I was using the Grid > Column Auto-size menu item (which work well). I rarely use the grid management window... I guess I should use it more, to ensure it works well . I'll check that issue

Summarizing:
  • The main issue, freeze when moving the Gantt splitter is fixed
  • The secondary issue (Grid > Properties not being saved if the grid is opened) is not fixed
