Item is created off the viewable area of the application desktop

(I'm just copying and pasting from my bug list on IQ, so these posts will be minimal.  If anyone needs more information, or sample data, or whatever, for any of these problems please just let me know and I'll get it to you).

This doesn't happen here. [EDIT : Anybody else? I'm basically creating an item when right at the bottom edge of the grid... Is that what you're talking about ?]

Sorry, I wasn't clear: it only happens when you are working on the very last item in the grid.  Try this:

Take a grid that has more than a screenful of information, and scroll to the last item (it should end up at the bottom of the screen).

Press enter.

The new item should be off the screen.

I see what you mean. I was scrolling with the vertical scroll bar (mouse scroll). But then I tried just pressing "end" (keyboard), and then "enter" (when in the "item" field).

So... here the item is actually half-visible. That's why I never really bothered to report this as a bug. Maybe it depends on one's screen resolution or font choice for the grid (I don't use the default fonts) ?

Anyhow... It should (preferably) be fully visible on any resolution.

Check.  It's almost but not quite entirely off the desktop area in the IQ - if I tab across I can just see the top of the cursor moving at bottom of window.

Hi. Has anyone noticed a resolution to the issue that DF has raised here? I still struggle with this behaviour when I reach the bottom of the screen and attempt to enter a new grid item simply by pressing <enter>. I have noticed that creating a second item following that (pressing <enter> a second time) will incite the grid to scroll to a workable area of the screen, but who wants to do that??

Best,

Yes, if we are talking about the same thing, this is something I find a bit frustrating.

If I'm adding to a grid that the content has reached the bottom of the screen, then it just doesn't handle it cleanly so you can see what you are typing. similarly, when you are typing in a cell that midway through a grid, and the content wraps to subsequent rows, it would be good if it kept it all cleanly visible, by moving other rows down. I expect this may be a grid contstraint though.

I consider the 2nd of my two workable, but not nice. The problem at the bottom of the screen really isn't workable, without manually moving scrolling things.
