Repeated this 3x
did not restart computer to try again
Steps to recreate
 
go to html pane
delete line of extra space 3x
on 3x, program closes prematurely.

Sorry, but I can't see much in this video. Can you provide detailed steps, starting from the sample database?
 
I tried deleting characters but did not see the problem.

Sorry my video doesn't illustrate problem. Sure I'll try again. Never worked w sample database; where is it? What's it called?

Simply do a File>>New and work from the Welcome grid

ok will do but just to let you know -- I restarted my computer, opened my IQ db, repeated the exact steps I listed in my original post, which ended with the exact same result

This proved to be an illusive problem.
 
I opened the welcome grid in sample dB, did my best to delete in html grid w/o a crash
 
I restarted IQ w my db & tried same thing in same html pane, i.e. same data w/o crash
so now I don't know what to tell you.
 
Maybe I had a problem w the way that html data was formed. OTOH, if that's the case, I don't know how it corrected itself...
It's also possible I have some kind of wrinkle in my dB. For example I cannot compact my dB w/o error
Maybe it's Vista.
 
If it happens again, I'll report it again.
Sorry for now, Pierre.  If there's something else you'd like me to try, I'm ready to do that.
