Hi,
I can't seem to figure out Image Viewer.  I've been presuming that once an image file has been dragged/dropped into a field Item cell and a hyperlink created and Image Viewer opened that double-clicking on the image hyperlink is supposed to load the image into Image Viewer, but what happens here is the image opens in Windows default image viewer (in my case MS Photo Editor) completely outside of InfoQube.  What am I doing wrong?
thanks

The way the image viewer works is as follows:
  1. Drag-drop image files onto a grid
  2. In the File link dialog, select File Link Saved to: File link fields
  3. Open 1 or more image viewers
  4. As you navigate the items, the linked images will be displayed in the viewers
I've created a book page describing this (taken from the old forum): File link example: Image Viewer

thanks Pierre, but I cannot seem to make it happen.  When I drag-drop the image file and the hyperlink is created and then open Image Viewer and then navigate to the Item/hyperlink, nothing happens, although when I move the cursor over Image Viewer a message box appears instructing to "double-click to lock the viewer on this image".  If I double-click with cursor over Image Viewer box nothing happens, if I move cursor off Image Viewer and double-click on the Item/hyperlink MS then Photo Editor opens.  Is there a "switch" somewhere I need to "set" before this function works?  Import settings as below.

Can you ? :
  1. Provide  a screenshot of the grid and the properties pane showing the properties of an image item
  2. What are the image file types ? PNG is not currently supported...

Pierre, I seem to have "gotten" it.  Yeh for me!  After clicking around again for a while tonight, with the picture dragged-dropped and the hyperlink created, a jpg picture finally showed up in the Image Viewer frame.   'bout knocked me off my chair!  After that, voila, picture after picture after picture.  What I was able to establish/recreate was to select the hyperlink item (either by cell or by entire line), open Image Viewer, single-click on a different cell in the same line as the hyperlink Item and the picture shows.  This is only methodology that worked for me.
thanks

Hi Doug,

There were a few bizarre things with the image viewer:
  • Opening the viewer did not show an image even if it should
  • .PNG files were not shown
  • Cursor keys did not trigger the display (only mouse clicks)
These are now fixed (next release)

 Pierre,
Glad to read that list. When I first saw the thread yesterday I could see an immediate application for an IQBase for a work problem here but I was experiencing similar problems to the ones Doug mentioned. I was unable to post my comments yesterday and now I see you've solved the problems!
Thanks,
John
