I use a lot of shortcuts but also use the mouse a lot - I've never really learned how to navigate the menu properly via keyboard
 
Is there a way to move focus from the Menu to the grid using a shorcut ?
 
F9 doesnt work here (- shouldnt it ?  - is that a bug or is it simply not implemented properly yet?)

F9 works here, but how exactly do you use the menu, as if you were focused on the grid, using the menu should bring you back to the grid.
 
Also, Do you have View>>Goto Pane>>Grid  (with F9 as its shortcut) ?

I rarely use the menu but sometimes it takes focus (after adding a file link for example, after alt-tabbing to IQ - but neither reproducible - will keep an eye out)
When it has focus F9 doesnt work here anyways
 
Try this [Does this work for you, anyone?] -
  • click on File in the main menu
  • press escape, the File-menu closes but the menubar still has focus
  • F9 (doesnt work here to bring focus back to grid)
I'll keep an eye on it Pierre & will check does it work in a clean install (but will wait for new version !!). Not a big deal at the current time

Does not work here either
<F9>  is set to return to grid
beta 9.25 pre 17

This is a Windows "feature". Many Windows app work this way: When the menu has focus, shortcuts do not work
 
You need to press ESC first, in order to remove the focus from the menu

I used Esc to clear the opened menu item, but if you use escape again, it does (here) remove the focus 'hold' of the menu - F9 does then work
