Search <CTRL> F for an item that you know has children
Select item to be shown in search result grid
search result grid = full hiearchy
Item appears in search result grid w triangle to indicate children
Click on triangle, converts to single item circle, no children visible

1. Should the children appear when triangle is clicked?
2. If children aren't displayed, is this a bug or by design
3. Is it a bug that the triangle is present but does do what it supposedly indicates?

1. No, because the children aren't assigned to the same property (Address Book)
2. refers to triangle, don't know the answer
3. I think so unless one is meant to interpret it to mean that the item does have children

Hi Jan,

Filter criteria applies to subitem is most probably ON. It should be off if you wan't to be able to see the children.

I tried several searches, Full hierarchy is on, and items with children are always expandable.

I don't know what to try... I never encountered this problem ounce.

So Full hierarchy is ON and everything else is off ? No filter toolbar whatsoever etc. ?

If you can reproduce this issue consistently can you post a screencast ? Thanks

I also tried to reproduce this, without success. I was able to expand the item and see the sub-items. What does "show all sub-items"  do ?

The only case when an item appears to have sub-items and clicking to expand does not reveal any is if  "Filter applies to sub-items" is checked.

1. Exactly... But you still haven't said what filters were active when you first exposed the problem... As in the search grid, any and all children should appear unless a specific filter is ON -- e.g. : Filter criteria applies to sub items.
2. To me, it's very important that the triangle appears as I want to know whether an item has children, whether these are seeable or not because of the various filters. There's always the items->"Show all sub items" feature which woks wonders. You can even assign a shortcut to it if you want to use it frequently.
3. See #2
