 In pre-rel 19, How do you access an external HTML editor--is similar to Word or blocknote access, and if so, do where do you set it up?

Quite simply. The Word and Blocknote toolbar icons are now enabled for both:
  1. MHT files
  2. HTML files
HTML files are more common than MHT ones and there are many more HTML editors.
 
To convert embedded content to an HTML file:
  1. New MHT document >> Convert to MHT
  2. New HTML document >> Convert to an HTML file
To convert a captured MHT document, simply do step 2
Keep in mind that HTML files should be moved with the corresponding .files folder (which contains all dependant files)

Pierre,
maybe I've misunderstood -
 
1) I'm unable to open HTML content using the BlockNote icon (I can open MHT content fine)
This is also the case in a clean new install/file (where I have added the BlockNote path in options)
 
2) I've only used MHT when I want to save images locally (from a web page) - if I were to convert MHT to HTML, will these images remain local ?

This is neat--now, since I anticipate not using MHT at all, I can use Word and Blocknote for HTML, ;or setup any two html editors I want. (In my case, I'm now using Ultraedit instead of blocknote).
 
1) Will the "add item" eventually capture direct to HTML?
 
2) Are there any advantages to MHT, other than the single file produced, and that the add item/web capture goes direct to that format?   I know you've mentioned there are very few editors for it.  
 
3) What does the "convert the current MHT file to embedded HTML document do? it says you lose images; what good is it?
